@$$hole!: Ren Faire 2011 (part 11)

So Dave was the winner – in this comic, and in real life. In the comic, he cheated and won after a single round. In real life, we fought a had battle.

The fight was best of 5. Dave and I both scored 4, and Josh scored 3. It was the final battle and we were all hot, exhausted, and about to pass out. However, knowing that everything was on the line, we all put in our very best effort. After a grooling battle that lasted several minutes, the fight was over. Dave was victorious.

After removing the 40 pounds of armor, starting with that stifling helmet, we came to realize we were drenched in sweat. It was one of the reasons I couldn’t see, and why my eyes were stinging so much. Dave and Josh’s hair were stuck to their faces. Breathing suddenly became easier. And the 100 degree air outside felt…well, still hot as well, but suddenly there was the hint of a breeze.

Next update we get the aftermath of the battle, then an epilogue. Then we move onto the next story. 🙂
