Sorry gang, but because of the wedding stuff I’ve used up my buffer and kind of ran out of strips. I’m going to be spending the weekend making new ones, and then updating 3x for the next two weeks to make up for the loss.
In the meantime, however, I do have a video of my cat Waffles “playing” with her new toy.
A little background here:
Waffles loves to wrestle and tends to play rather rough, leaving my arms looking like I just put them through a shredder. Because of this, my mother was kind enough to buy her a scratching pad that is supposed to dull her claws. However, the scratching pad comes with a feather toy that has a bell attached. Which is, of course, the only part of the thing that she’s actually interested in.
Also, it’s important to point out that since this video was taken, she hasn’t played with any part of the scratching post since. Her favorite thing to play with is a bunch of tin foil balled up, after all.
Why do I buy this kitty toys, again?
Anyway, have a great weekend, everyone. Comics to come next week!
While I’m away at conventions (or even sometimes at work), I wonder what goes through the mind of my cat. Sure it’s probably worse when I leave for a weekend to attend a con (like I did this previous weekend), because when I get home she becomes noticeably more cuddly.
For a while, anyway. Then she goes back to blowing me off and doing her own thing.
Waffles, I know my body pillow (which she’s turned into her own personal bed) is very comfortable, but wouldn’t you also be comfortable up on the couch draping over my lap? I could pet you….
But no, she goes and does her own kitty things.
My claim to fame is that I’ve taught her how to play fetch. Sort of. She brings me her favorite toy (currently a pink plush mouse toy) and drops it near me, and then looks away. It’s her way of saying, “Oh, how did that get there? I could play with you, if you wanted to throw it…but we don’t have to.”
But as soon as I pick the thing up, she’s ready to chase it.
My cat’s quite the goof. But she’s also quite lovable.
When she’s not scheming to destroy me, of course.
Nominate TrevorAMueller.com in the 2009 Web Comic List Reader’s Choice Awards (no need to sign up, but it helps if you put in some info so they know you’re not a spambot). I’d take any nominations, but I’m specifically looking for:
- Best Writing
- The Innovation Award
- Best Supporting Character – Susie (or the crazy cat lady…or the waiter)
Carl was kind enough to make me this guest strip while he was visiting Chicago for my birthday. I think his style has become very cute lately, so it’s always fun to see his rendition of my character (and my cat). I hope you enjoy it.
