@$$hole!: The Assault 10

 In web comics

Friends of mine have been bothering me about this for a long time, so I thought it was time to do something about it.

Laura, while always having been a fictional character, is based on a girl I dated several years ago. When we broke up, my friends encouraged me to get rid of her character from this comic – but in my head, the Laura in the comic was someone completely different. I wanted to explore her character more, especially the dynamic between her and Susie. I thought they played off each other well.

However, around this time the comic started to introduce the photo characters and storylines, which brought a lot of attention and notoriety to the comic. It started getting nominated for web awards, and it really blew up my status as a comic professional.

Also, the photo pages were fun to do, and took less time on average to complete.

Because of this, my plans for exploring Laura further didn’t really happen. So now, years later, I figure it’s time to move on and let illustrated Trevor be single for a while as well.

Plus, since I’m not single (although Photo Trevor is), it lets me do some of the ridiculous dating related stuff I’ve wanted to explore for a while without having to get an actor to do the scenes with me.

That said, this story arc is wrapping up on Friday. It’s been an epic run, but it’s time to go back to some fun one-off strips. See you then!

I think this is the right move. I look forward to what is in store for Photo Trevor!

Thanks, Lora. Friends have been bugging me to do this for years, but I was always focused on other stories. Seemed like a natural / funny way to end such an epic story arc.
